Step up your game with the right footwear
Wearing proper footwear isn’t just about comfort—it’s your first line of defence against injury and your secret weapon for on-court performance.
Ditch the runners
Running shoes are built for straight lines. Netball demands quick cuts, sharp pivots, and lateral stability—something running trainers just can’t deliver.
Find your perfect match.
Use the ASICS Netball Shoe Finder to discover the ideal pair for your position and play style.
Every player deserves support that moves with them.
The right sports bra isn’t just about comfort it’s about performance and protection.
Research shows that a poor fit can increase impact forces during landings, raising the risk of lower limb injuries. That’s a serious concern for anyone who plays hard and moves fast.
A well-designed sports bra should feel like part of your kit — no rubbing, no chafing, no distractions. When you’re comfortable and supported, you can focus fully on your game and give it everything you’ve got.
So how do you find the perfect fit?
Check out Netball UK to find the right fit for you.
Your mindset is your secret weapon
Mental preparation is just as vital as physical training when it comes to netball.
Whether you're stepping onto court for a friendly match or a league game, your mindset can elevate your performance.
Stay positive, even when it’s tough
Mistakes happen but how you respond matters.
Replace self-doubt with positive self-talk. Remind yourself of your strengths, your progress, and your resilience. A growth mindset turns setbacks into stepping stones
Protect your wellbeing
Mental wellbeing isn’t just about winning, it’s about balance. Make time for rest, reflection, and mindfulness.
Talk openly with teammates and coaches when you need support
Fitness isn’t just part of the game, it’s the foundation.
While every training session includes some strength and conditioning, it’s up to each player to take ownership of their fitness outside of team time.
To perform at your peak for a full match, you need to build and maintain the stamina, strength, and agility that netball demands.
(Players returning from injury or maternity leave—your focus is on rebuilding, and that’s just as important.)
Need a flexible way to stay on top of your game?
Check out Fitness Blender—a brilliant free resource packed with HIIT, cardio, strength, and plyometric workouts.
Whether you’ve got 10 minutes or an hour, there’s something to suit your schedule and goals.

At Sherburn Netball Club, every member plays a vital role in shaping the culture of our club both on and off the court.
That means taking personal responsibility for how we behave, treating teammates, opponents, and umpires with respect at all times, and upholding the values that make our club proud.
Whether you're celebrating a win or learning from a loss, how you carry yourself matters. We believe in winning with dignity and losing with grace — because true sportsmanship shines through in every moment, not just the scoreboard.
This season, we’re proud to recognise someone who embodies these values consistently and wholeheartedly.
🏅 Sportsmanship Award Winner 23/24 Season: Kate Bowers 🏅
Kate is a shining example of what it means to be a respectful and uplifting presence on court. She always shows consideration for her opponents, umpires, and fellow teammates never resorting to negative comments or behaviour.
Kate’s attitude reminds us that sport is not just about skill — it’s about character. Congratulations, Kate, and thank you for setting the standard.

DownloadSummer League is now finished with Sherburn Galaxy coming out on top, once again proving themselves to be one of the most elite teams in North Yorkshire!
We now look forward to preseason training and putting out some strong performances in the 24-25 winter season.
For the first time, we will field a sixth senior squad, Sherburn Lunars, and they will debut in the 4th division of the York & District League. Comprised mostly of U19s this is a great opportunity for those aging out of the juniors to continue enjoying netball with their peers.
